The People Democratic Party (PDP) Imo state division has Suspended the State Party Chairman Engr Charles Ugwu.

The PDP Chairman of Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area and Chairman of all PDP Chairmen in the state, Hon. Emeka Alihe, moved for the suspension, which was made public on Tuesday. Hon. Godspower Apollos, the PDP Chairman of Owerri Municipality, backed the motion.

Not less than eighteen (18) additional Local Government Chairmen and members of the State Executive Committee (SEC) approved the move to suspend Ugwu.

Ugwu was reportedly suspended due to accusations of severe misconduct and disobedience.

Chidi Dike, the party's zonal chairman for Okigwe, was named the party's interim state chairman.
