Senate Leader, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, has appealed to the labour unions in Nigeria to reconsider their planned strike over the federal government's refusal to reverse the fuel price hike and electricity tariff increase.

Lawan made the appeal while speaking with newsmen at the National Assembly Complex on Saturday, stressing that the strike would compound the problems facing the country.

He appealed to the workers to allow for more time to discuss and reach an amicable solution that would benefit all.
