Four people died, and another four were injured in a road accident that occurred at 12:40 p.m. on Sunday around MRI, Mosimi, along the Sagamu-Ogijo-Ikorodu area of Ogun State.

The accident involved a wine-coloured Toyota Sienna bus with registration number LND945EL and a white convoy bus with registration number AKD232XV. The spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command, Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, attributed the accident to excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking, which led to a head-on collision of the two vehicles.

The injured were taken to Dasochris Hospital at Gbaga, Ogijo, while the relatives of the deceased claimed their bodies for burial. The crash involved eight people, including six male adults, one female adult, and one female child. The four deceased included two male adults, one female adult, and one female child, while four male adults were injured.

The Sector Commander, Ogun Sector Command, Anthony Uga, sympathized with the families of the crash victims and advised motorists to avoid overspeeding and give total attention to driving, ensuring they follow road markings when overtaking.
