A man named Inyangake James Peter, aged 40, has allegedly murdered his mother, Mma-Offiong James Peter, claiming that he was directed to do so by a voice.

He confessed to the crime, stating that he followed the voice's instructions to "kill her." The incident occurred around 9am on April 4, in Ikpe Annang village, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Akwa Ibom State Command's Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Odiko Macdon, confirmed the incident, expressing concern over the rise in family-related murders.

Another murder suspect, Solomon Asuquo Isaac, was also arrested for killing his 18-year-old son, with both suspects awaiting charges pending the completion of investigations.
