A Veritas University student, Mr. Joshua Daniel, passed away on campus while exercising at the school's gym.

The university's management has pledged to collaborate with relevant authorities in investigating the student's death.

Ben Agande, the Head of Corporate Affairs at the university, stated in a Thursday statement, "On the 30th of April, 2024, one of our students, Mr. Joshua Daniel, while exercising at the University Gymnasium, unfortunately collapsed, and despite efforts by the medical team, led by the Chief Medical Director, to revive him, he did not survive."

The student's parents were promptly notified, and the school authorities informed the police. "Our thoughts are with the parents of the late Mr. Daniel as well as the Head of Department and students of the Department of Computer Sciences over this unfortunate loss," Agande expressed.

The university offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the student's soul and extended its deepest condolences to the parents. "As a university, we will fully cooperate with the police, the deceased's parents, and all relevant authorities to determine the probable cause of death," Agande affirmed.

He urged the media and the public to respect the privacy of the student's parents during this difficult time while the police conduct their investigation.
