According to reports, the suspect, identified as a landlord, allegedly engaged in criminal behavior with his 14-year-old tenant, whose name has been withheld for privacy and protection. The incident allegedly occurred on April 9, 2024, at a residence located on Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, within the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

As reported, the victim had gone to the bathroom to take a shower when the accused landlord allegedly made his way to the bathroom and forcibly engaged in sexual activity with her. The suspect was caught in the act by witnesses, including members of the community and neighboring residents, who immediately raised the alarm and alerted the authorities. In response, officers from the Ajuwon Police Division arrived at the scene and arrested the landlord.

Following the incident, the victim received medical attention and testing at a local hospital, which revealed that she was approximately six weeks pregnant. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, where all parties involved will be thoroughly investigated and questioned. The spokesperson for the state Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, has confirmed the incident and the ongoing investigation.

“The landlord has been arrested and detained. The father reported that he was caught defiling his 14-year-old daughter in their bathroom in the morning. The teenager was taken to Tamara Hospital in Akute for a medical examination.

However, the medical report further showed that that wasn’t a first-time act because the test showed that the teenager was already six weeks pregnant. The state CID in Eleweran will soon take up the matter for further investigation” Odutola said
