Kanywood actress Amal Umar appeared in Magistrate Court No. 24 in Gyadi-Gyadi area of Kano metropolis for allegedly trying to bribe a law enforcement officer.

The actress, accused of offering N250,000 to a police officer named ASP Salisu Bujama, was attempting to stop a police investigation into financial misappropriation by her boyfriend, Ramadan Inuwa.

A complaint was filed by Alhaji Yusuf Adamu, detailing how Inuwa misappropriated N40million in his cell phone business. The actress admitted that N8million transferred to her bank account belonged to her boyfriend.

She sought legal intervention to stop further police investigations, but was arrested for attempting to bribe ASP Salisu Bujama. This act violates Section 118 of the Penal Code, which prohibits bribery of a police officer.
