Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly Hon. Kunle Oluomo has been impeached following a charge of embezzlement of public fund.

The Speaker was charged for different nefarious act, as the decree was passed during the plenary session on Tuesday 23 of January 2024.

Out of the 36 members of the House, 18 supported the decision that the speaker should be impeached after being found guilty of embezzlement, nefarious acts and other offense.

Prior to the decision the House immediately announced Oludaisi Elemide as the new speaker of the house.
