Ahmad Olanrewaju Belgore, a former justice of the court of appeal, passed away at the age of 70.

He retired from the court of appeal on April 18, 2023, upon reaching the age of 70. In a statement released by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara state, condolences were expressed over Belgore's death.

Belgore, who was the presiding justice of the Ilorin division of the court of appeal until his retirement, died on Tuesday night.

Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin and chairman of the Kwara state traditional rulers council, also mourned Belgore's death, describing it as a significant loss to the Ilorin Emirate and the nation.

Belgore was born on April 18, 1953, and studied Law at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, where he obtained his LL.B (Hons.) with a specialization in Islamic law, from 1975 to 1978.

He completed his legal education at the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos in 1979 and was called to the Nigerian bar in July 1979.
