An accident on Wednesday in Lagos resulted in two adults being thrown from an 18-seater bus into the Lagos lagoon.

The Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this in a statement, stating that the Marine Police were currently searching for the two adults, a male and a female, who fell off the LT 18-seater bus.

The incident, involving a bus with registration number FKJ 872 YA, occurred near the Adeniyi Adele axis, heading towards Lagos Island, on the third mainland bridge.

According to Mr. Farinloye, the driver of the vehicle was speeding, causing him to swerve off the road and hit the bridge railings.

The impact of the crash forcibly ejected the two passengers from the bus into the Lagos lagoon. The victims, an adult male and female, are currently being searched for by the Marine Police, while the injured have been taken to a nearby hospital.
