Kano police detains 11 Muslims for breaking their fast during Ramadan:

According to reports, the Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 11 Muslims for violating the rules of fasting by eating during daylight hours. These arrests were a part of the annual enforcement operations for Ramadan, during which eateries and markets were searched. Lawal Ibrahim, the PRO of the board, confirmed the arrests in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, stating that the arrests took place on Tuesday in various locations, particularly around markets.

Of the 11 individuals apprehended, 10 were men and one was a woman who was caught eating from her peanut-selling stall. Ibrahim mentioned that non-Muslims are not subject to these enforcement activities, but if they are found selling food to Muslims during fasting hours, they could face consequences

"On Tuesday, we detained 11 individuals, including a woman selling peanuts who was seen eating from her stall after being reported by the public. The other 10 individuals were men and were detained in different parts of the city."
