Lizzo highlighted the toll of enduring falsehoods for attention and enduring derogatory comments about her looks. She concluded by stating she didn't sign up for such treatment and declared her resignation from the industry.

The singer has maintained a low profile since last year when allegations surfaced that she had sexually harassed her backup dancers.

Her first public appearance following this controversy was at last month's Grammy Awards, where she presented the award for Best R&B Song to SZA. Lizzo faced legal action from some of her backup dancers, who accused her of fostering a hostile work environment and engaging in sexual harassment.
