The Nigerian police have freed the detained social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. Initially, the police refused to release him on Sunday, citing the Easter break.

Shegzeblog had previously stated that VeryDarkMan was supposed to be released on Easter Day, but the police claimed there were no personnel available to process his release due to the Easter celebrations.

A source familiar with the situation informed Shegzeblog earlier on Sunday that despite the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, stating that the lawyers representing the influencer could retrieve him, the Investigating Police Officers on duty initially stated there was no such instruction.

Shegzeblog later learned that the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, Mr. Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, mentioned that the lawyers could return on Tuesday to retrieve their client.
