Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, has passed away at the age of 81.

He ascended the throne two years ago and was presented with the Staff of Office by the Oyo State Governor. Governor Makinde confirmed his death on Thursday, describing him as a towering figure like an Iroko tree.
The Governor expressed his condolences to the family, Olubadan-in-Council, Traditional Council, and the people of Ibadanland. The passing of Oba Balogun marks the end of an era for Ibadanland, leaving a significant void in its history. Oba Balogun thanked God for his two-year reign just days before his passing.
He emphasized the importance of prayers and love during Ramadan for a stress-free period.
