The appeal, case no: CA/KN/EP/GOV/KAN/34/2023, is scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, November 7, at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are all parties to the case.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Yusuf as the winner of the governorship election with 1,019,602 votes, defeating his closest opponent, Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 890,705 votes.

However, after the tribunal deducted 165,663 votes from Yusuf's total, his votes were reduced to 853,939, which was more than 30,000 votes less than the 890,705 votes that Gawuna received.
