He credited President Bola Tinubu for ending fuel subsidies and unifying exchange rates, stating that the previous system was creating sudden wealth for some individuals.

Shettima made these remarks during a visit from the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) delegation, led by President Gabriel Idahosa, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He emphasized that the Naira would strengthen further against the dollar, highlighting the leadership's ability to reverse the earlier trend.

The Vice President praised Tinubu's governance in Lagos, noting that it laid the groundwork for the state's current development. He assured that the administration is focused on addressing power sector challenges to create job opportunities, emphasizing the President's commitment to transforming Nigeria and leaving a legacy of quality leadership.

Idahosa presented the LCCI's recommendations, urging the administration to implement policies that enhance credit access, stimulate investment, and support entrepreneurship, particularly for SMEs and key sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and technology.
