On Saturday, the Rivers State House of Assembly announced its readiness to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara if necessary to uphold the Constitution.

This statement came as the 27 lawmakers aligned with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, criticized the former Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, led by Dr. Abiye Sekibo, for their recent attack on Wike.

Speaker of the House, Martin Amaewhule, made this declaration during a media briefing in Port Harcourt, accompanied by 26 colleagues.
