Previously, it was reported that EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede disclosed during a press briefing in Abuja on April 23 that the ex-governor had paid $760,910 upfront for the schooling of five of his children, using Kogi state government funds. In light of this, the school issued a statement committing to refund the fees to the EFCC.

In response to a letter from the EFCC Lagos zonal commander, AISA stated that $845,852 had been paid in tuition "from the 7th of September 2021 to date."

AISA clarified that it would refund $760,910, deducting the cost of educational services already provided.
