The affected facilities, situated in Ifako-Ijaiye, Abesan Estate, Abule-Egba, Alagbado, Command, and Dopemu areas, were sealed off. This action was confirmed by the state's commissioner for the environment, Tokunbo Wahab, who announced it on Friday.

Among the establishments affected are the Catholic Church, 1602 Hotel, Seventh Heaven Bar & Lounge, Lourita Hotel & Suites, God’s Porch Ministries, and Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, as well as White Pavilion Hotel, Quest Hotel & Suites, Excel Hotel & Suite, and HoneyComb Confectionery Limited.

These closures are temporary and are intended to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. LASEPA emphasized the importance of businesses adhering to environmental standards to avoid penalties. The agency clarified that the closures are part of their ongoing efforts to curb noise pollution in the state.

This development follows the recent closure of several religious institutions, hotels, event centers, and clubhouses due to similar noise pollution violations.

It's important to note that the approved noise level in residential areas should not exceed 55 decibels during the day and 45 decibels at night.
