Panic ensued in the Ita-Oshin area of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, due to a gas tanker explosion that resulted in four deaths and the burning of approximately six vehicles.

The explosion reportedly occurred after the gas tanker was involved in an accident while attempting to navigate along the road railings.

Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps and Ogun State Fire Service, promptly arrived at the scene to evacuate the victims' remains and manage the fire. Several vehicles, including taxis, a private car, and a truck, were engulfed by the flames, and nearby shops and houses were also affected.

Although security and safety officials present at the scene have not yet issued a comprehensive statement about the incident, eyewitnesses, who chose to remain anonymous, reported that some casualties had been transported to the hospital by the response teams.
