Mary Fowler's impressive two-goal performance in the second half propelled Manchester City to a 4-0 victory over Bristol City, extending their lead to six points at the summit of the Women's Super League.

The win relegates Bristol City, who, with just two games remaining, have been unable to secure enough points to remain in the league.

Despite Bristol's efforts, including a strong first-half defensive display, Fowler's stunning 62nd-minute strike and a second goal 13 minutes later dashed their hopes of survival. The result was further sealed when Bristol's Amy Rodgers inadvertently scored an own goal in the 75th minute, followed by Alex Greenwood's header in the dying moments of the game.

Meanwhile, Manchester United secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Leicester City, courtesy of a goal from Ella Toone, maintaining their fourth position in the league. Elsewhere, there were three 1-1 draws between Arsenal and Everton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa and West Ham United, with the latter salvaging a point through a stoppage-time goal by Shannon Cooke. Additionally, Crystal Palace earned promotion to the Women's Super League following a goalless draw against Sunderland, finishing the season with 46 points, one ahead of Charlton Athletic.
