Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, announced this development in a statement on Sunday.

Uwaezuoke's criminal journey began in 2022 when he was first arrested for ingesting cocaine wraps and was later apprehended again attempting to smuggle drugs to India. Agbo, on the other hand, was caught at the Abuja airport trying to export cocaine to Hong Kong.

Uwaezuoke, a 43-year-old businessman, was initially arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja in 2022 after ingesting 100 wraps of cocaine weighing 2.243 kilograms. Despite being granted bail, he absconded and was later rearrested in August 2023 trying to export 1.822 kilograms of cocaine to India under a different identity. He pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced to seven years in prison, which he paid before being transferred to Abuja for the pending importation case. He pleaded guilty again in March 2024 and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Agbo, aged 42, was arrested in October 2023 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for ingesting 49 wraps of cocaine weighing 998.73 grams. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life imprisonment in April 2024.

The NDLEA Chairman, Brig-Gen. Buba Marwa, previously disclosed that 15 drug kingpins out of 3,412 drug offenders convicted in 2023 collectively received 168 years imprisonment.
